24v Power

I threw the truck on the dyno yesterday and my #s weren't what I was expecting.

I don't have the paper in front of me, so I'm going off memory, might be off a little bit. This is on a DynoJet

My stock run was 235hp, 450ft/lbs

Run #2 Smarty on #9, 250hp, 550ft/lbs

Run #3 Smarty on #9, TST1 box on 275hp, 645ft/lbs

I was guessing 325hp, 600ft/lbs

Truck has 275 injectors. Smarty is supposed to be 60hp, and so is the TST.

That's 395hp at the crank in theory. With a 15% drivetrain loss, I'd be at 335hp.

Do my numbers make any sense? I don't get why each box is only ~20hp, but ~100ft/lbs.

Yup.

I got up to 27psi on the dyno, when on the street I can hit around 32-35psi, but that is the same case for everyone else as well. Of the 20ish folks that dyno I was 3rd or 4th from last, only beating some 1st gens

Yes the "stock" run was with the RV275 injectors.

I have a built trans too. Billet input, convetor, upgraded planteries, clutches, etc.

Sounds like a tired VP to me, especially if that '98's pump is original.

Yeah it's the factory unit, 176,000 miles. No codes or dead pedal though.

I'm with Hohn, the old pump ain't helping. I think if you would have seen over 30psi of boost the number would have been a bit higher. I forgot what I did with 275 and a MAD ecm, seems like 260hp IIRC.

hmm, sounds like somebody is just adding numbers.

The actual dyno numbers look pretty close to me IMO

What is your fuel pressure? Is your wired tapped and does it have a good connection?

I did 260 hp and 560 Tq with a edge J/A on #0 and rv 275. And 342/756 on level 5&6. I also think your #s are low, no clue as to why though.

Yeah adding numbers.

BUT if the company says their deal is good for 60hp, I would expect it to be somewhere around that. 120hp of claimed power that only give 40hp seems odd to me.

The fuel pressure says over 5psi. I'm not sure what the #s are, I have a light, no guage. I put the pump on the frame rail right by the tank a while back and ran all new line to the VP.

it doesn't have to throw codes or dead pedal...actually 98's are notorious for never coding with a bad VP...why I don't know.

My buddy at work has a tired VP in his 99. DDP 3's, Blue box and a Smarty, and has a Fass, but that tired VP will only make 340hp, where other 24v's made 400+ with that setup.
