24v P-Pump swap

I have started looking into turning my vp into a P-pump. I talked to some places and they sell kits and I was wondering what actually is involved in switching one of these over. I have been told that I need the cam gear and cover fuel lines, and the brackets to actually mount the pump, the pump it self, and the throttle linkage. Is that it? Could I buy a wrecked truck and just rob the parts off of it or is the kit just for a 24v. how involved of a job is it installing all of the parts on the truck, 1 day 2 days or a couple of hours. Anyone who has done this or anyone with some insight on this project would be great. Thanks in advance!

P Pump

Well you need the whole front of the engine where the gears are, you need the gears, 12 valve cam, pump, lines, wire in the kicker for shutting it off, and you should be able to make the orig throtle cable work off the truck you need to make a bracket but it is poss. It is kinda hard to change the cam because you have to take out all the lifters for find a way to hold them out of the way.

I have a p pumped 24 that im thinking about selling or maybe sell all the parts to do the swap. send me a pm if you are interested or would like any other info

You don't have to change the came. In reality, you don't even have to pull the cam. Just pull the gear off of the cam. Pulling the cam might be the easier way though. The pump gear is what is changed, not the cam gear. Only reason to pull the cam (or cam gear) is for the removal of the 24v case and put on the 12v case. If you can score a wrecked 12v, it will have everything you need for the conversion except the fuel lines. But you will have to deal with the lift pump issue. I run a FASS on mine.
