Sounds like you have a fuel leak...check where the fuel line meets the connector tube in the head. Alot of times its just bad o-rings that need to be replaced.

Check your air bleeder valve at the fuel filter housing for a leak. Sometimes the o-rings inside start to leak and you lose a bit of fuel from the filter while it sits. Happened to mine. I doubt it's cold enough where you are for air heaters not working to cause it. It would have to be pretty cold if it's not starting well after sitting for only 1 hour. Hope you find something.

Have you ever replaced your fuel lines? If not, they could well be in need of replacement.

When you start your truck, if you give it fuel right away, does it stumble or does it take right off? If it stumbles, it could well be air in the fuel system.

One way to check this is to install a short section of clear fuel line and watch it as you start up.

it looks like my fuel return line either has a crack or the fitting is leaking after climbing around in the dark with a flashlight haha

Check your overflow valve then too. The OFV should keep the fuel in the VP when its not running. Mine wasn't doing that and caused really poor starts.

There is a banjo bolt on the back of the head for the return line from the injectors. Make sure thats not leaking either.
