2000 215 HP version...injectors, pump or ECM ???

Hey folks, I have a friend who has a 2000 24v auto trans, its only a 215 HP version. He may want to put injectors in it, but we were talking, and I am not sure whether dodge/cummins detuned it down to 215 HP with the pump, the ECM or with smaller injectors? Anybody know?? He was thinking about a set of RV 275's/300's that I have, and I am not sure how much it would wake up his machine, depending on what was done to the engine to get it down to 215 from the factory.

He also mentioned that he has the HX35-12 housing, but I would have though it was an HY35-9 ???

Any help appreciated, I dont know jack about the auto versions.

Thanks
KP

As near as I can tell, the VP and sticks are identical on the 215 and 235 hp version.....I was always under the impression that the ECM programming was the determining factor between the two but I suppose the injectors could be different since I don't know that they are the same for sure.....and yes you are correct, his 2000 auto has the little HY35 with the 9cm housing.

I thought the 2000 auto's had the HX-35? Heard somewhere the HY-35 was only used on 2 year models.... but you have me not sure.

There you go....I stand corrected. I have heard claims of some 2000 model year autos equipped with the HY.

Are all 2000 autos 215hp? Or is it a California truck?
