215 Injectors and Auto Trans

I have to put a set of injectors in my truck. I was thinking of going with 215's and was wondering how my auto will hold up with them and my current mods. I don't have the cash to go with an aftermarket trans right now. Would a shift kit help?
Thanks

well just my 2 cents but my buddy has a 95 and he bought it with 155,000 miles on it had to have the tranny rebuilt he knows the guy and it is back in the shop for the third time eating up the planitary gears. he has cold air kit and fuel plate # 5 i would strongly suggest from what i have read here that you sink the money into the tranny after the injectors. suncoast has lowered there prices converter is about 1300. and valve body 400.00 or a whole new tranny is 2700. and i am in the same boat but i dont need injectors yet but if i did i would go with edm or rv 275s just be easy with the tranny for now.

The 215's are not a big HP injector going into a 180 pump, maybe 25HP. With your #8 I say you should be ok with 215's as long as you drive sensibly.

I installed a set of 215's a long time back in my 180 pump. I was happy with them and their performance over the stock injectors. It wasn't much but it was definitely noticable.

FWIW, I just talked to Mark at Piers Diesel. 215 injectors with a #8 plate will be pushing the trans. He advised sliding the plate back a bit or switching to a #10 plate. I'm buying the 215's.

Drive smart and your tranny will last. Keep your rpms up when working it hard, lugging under a load will kill your tranny no matter what mods you have.
