you'll need studs. or some guys have good luck with torquing down the factory head bolts with about 55psi. i have pop-offs on mine that open around 48psi. can you tell where the grinding is coming from?

it comes from the turbo side of the engine. an its a light grinding. kinda hard to explain the sound.

yea me too. like i say the turbo has a lil up and down play but when i spin it it sounds fine... but i dont believe the shaft play is excessive. id say its normal for a truck with 275k on it. lol

As for the bost drop my did the same thing. I was sucking my air filter closed. Change or clean out your filter and then try it.

I have had a turbo go out. pull off your intake and watch it, have some one run the throttle and see. Take a piece of metal pipe and place it on the intake side of the turbo and put your ear to the tube (place it on the housing) and listen. Then do the same on the exaust side. Have someone run the throttle up so you can listen.

if it is rubbing you wil hear it.

ok hears an update. it was doin it again today. i really think its my wastegate, because when it gets to 20 lbs it drops down to 5. and then when i let off throttle it jumps back up to 10 lbs before it goes down to 0. could it be my wastegate actin up? i think i pretty much ruled out the turbo as the shaft play is not excessive and it spins freely.

dude, i told you how to check, by pass the wg, and see if it does it again, if it doesnt your wg is sticking, or the sensor in the intake is going bad.

easiest way is a bolt the same size as the hose and a hose clamp

its a good way to test it out, if you have the defueling deal setup for your max boost you could just leave it that way
