19" or 22" rims for a 3500

Hey guys, I have been considering getting some bigger wheels for my dually. Any suggestions on where I can find these?

Also if any one has done this before, any advantages or disadvantages???

Thanks!!!

Are you looking for 22s or 22.5s? The 22s are a lot more expensive. About $500 more. The difference is the work done on the 22.5 wheel.

Also, http://www.southwestwheel.com/maxforce.htm

I noticed one drawback to running the larger wheels is that the wider track width that you end up with in the rear causes poor driving characteristics on some road surfaces. Interstate roads that carrry heavy truck traffic (especially in the right lane) tend to have depressions worn into the road surface. The edges of my rear tires it seems tend to ride up on these ruts and make the trucks rearend have a mind of its own. A little unnerving at first, but doesn't seem to do it with pulling my 5'er.
The wheels are also alot harder on the steering components.

I am runnung 22.5's on my dually. 38" tall tires w/7"lift. My truck would literally EAT front tires (255's, 285's, etc) 14ply tires are the BOMB. Chrome wheel is where I got my adapters and wheels. My tires were take-offs off a Prevost motorhome. Lots of people who purchase these 600k motorhomes are very tire/brand specific.

I have 155,000 miles on my stock front end. I put shocks on at about 75,000. I have been running 19.5" wheels and tires since 55,000. I started out with 225/70R19.5 tires on 19.5" x 6" wheels. I got 89,000 miles out of the tires before I developed a 4" bubble on one of the side walls. I still had about a quarter inch of tread left at that time. Now I am running 245/70R19.5 tires on 19.5" x 6.75" wheels. I should have spent the money the first time and gotten the wider wheels and tires. Make sure you get what you want the first time.

Nope, no suspension mods required.
Just bolt them on....Rickson wheels bolt directly to the factory studs, other brands like Alcoa have a 10 lug circle and require an adapter plate (which BTW does not add to the offset or track width of the truck).
Nothing like having the same studs and lugs as a tractor trailer
Looks cool
