Getting 315's - my rims or H2 rims?
Getting 315's - my rims or H2 rims?
I want to put on larger tires - 315/70-17. Debating about just getting H2 tires/rims - seems like they can be had for about $800 on eBay. It will cost me about as much to buy the tires & remount on my rims. Don't really like the way the H2 rims look, but don't know if I can get 315's on my stock rims (which I really like). My stock rims were are the forged aluminum ones.

Love the H2 rims when they are combined with modified stock center caps. Looks tough and I get LOTS of positive comments on them. But I never really liked the factory forged aluminum wheel.
I guess it comes down to what floats your boat.

I really like the way the H2's look with Dodge center caps, and I get no rubbing with them, but I've seen plenty of Dodges with 315's on stock rims too. Get what appeals to you most, don't let a bunch of Keyboard Commados decide for you, or it'll never happen.
I should have expanded on my comment, didn't mean to offend h2 rim owners, lol. H2 rims are ugly, just a little less ugly than the stockers. My thought is that it's not worth going through the effort getting the h2 rims to fit because they don't look THAT much better. I would run the ugly stockers and save for a nice set - maybe the KORE/TREX Weld wheels with the proper backspacing..

No offense taken here either, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, it would get kind of boring if we all agreed on everything wouldn't it?
One thing is for sure...next time I purchase another set of H-2 rims...I will take them in and have a machine shop open the center bores instead of me doing it, I managed to put a few good scratches on them.

I have a chance to get a set of 03/04 H2 wheels for cheap. Will have a problem with the off set or the fact thatthe rear axle sticks out a bit. Are they just a bolt on with out any hassles?
They won't fit unless you open up the center bore slightly (I recommend having a machine shop do this) , you can find more information by doing a search for H-2 wheels or rims. The offset of the H-2 wheels & 315's works great with these trucks...really makes the truck look better and actually mine handles better now.

I have them on stock rims and have no complaints or any problems. THey have been on there since Jan 7k miles, now 21400 miles. Just make sure you rotate them every 6-7k miles cause they get nosiy. Also, on the stock rims the front tires will bulge a little bit because of the added engine weight. I keep frts at 42-43lbs and rears at 40psi.

...they may not have the "bling bling" look to them but I think they look fine, and the offset is pretty close to dead on.
