putting it all the way back would be fine it will stop the smoke on the top end, where in the powerband are you getting the most and would like to cut down?

Have you adjusted the starwheel? You can slide the afc housing back towards the steering wheel and see how much that helps.

theres also a smoke screw on the back of the AFC housing. everything i've read, the 10 plate in the middle should only have a little puff on take off if u adjust everything together (starwheel, plate, AFC housing, smoke screw)

You can adjust it were it only makes a little puff off the line like Box5 said. All the way back will barely run on some trucks. You would be better off with the stock plate.

on top of the afc housing you took off to change the plate you'll see an 8 mm allen head, remove that aleen hean and to screw is underneath it, tun towards engine for more low end fuel, away for less. Same thing as the starwheel.
