Your best sun tea recipe...

I finally decided to start doing sun tea again.

Yes, I've heard all the stories about sun tea having bacteria yada yada, i just call it a tasty bonus and a free immune system workout.

So whats your favorite recipe?

Do you add sugar while in the sun or sugar after?

Any specific brand of tea bags, flavors, sweetening, lemoning, artificial flavoring, etc.

I think im going to experiment with adding some fresh fruit while its in the sun.

Thanks for any recipes you want to share!

Good water, filtered or good spring water.
A favorite blend of fresh loose tea, not bag.
Clean glass jar or pitcher.
Tea for how strong you like it, add the fresh water, place in the morning direct sun.
Should be brewed by afternoon.
Add any fruit or lemon and sweeten with a sugar syrup, sugar disolved it hot water.
Put in refer to chill.
Ice a tall glass, pour and enjoy.

Wife and I were in Seattle goofing off for a week a couple of years ago. We had some iced tea at the Perrenial Tea Room. They served us some of this http://barnesandwatson.com/Ultra-Pre...duct_info.html We loved it and asked for the name. We found it in Pike's market and brought some home. We have been using it ever since. You need only about 3-4 bags for a gallon depending on your taste. Usually 3/4 cup sugar for 1 gallon of sun tea works for me. Good ol' Lipton works good too using about 5-6 bags for a gallon with 3/4 cup of sugar.

Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Iced Tea. Comes in bags- doesn't need the sun. Fill a pitcher with water, add tea bags, put in fridge. Shortly you will have very good tea! Let it sit longer - no problem. Eliminates the bacteria possibilities!

I have one of those big **** jars that had pickles in it (Sam,s Club) and use Lipton tea. Once you bring it back inside add the juice of, 1 orange 1 lemon 1 lime and some FRESH mint sprigs. Sugar to taste.

ya'll sweeten it with the wrong thing........ for those who like southern comfort, use that, frangelica fans have their sweetener, and amaretto works great too.

I finally decided to just make it in the fridge and forget the sun. Just put the jar with the tea and room temp water in the frige. Next morning add a lot of fresh squeezed lemon juice and that's it. No sugar. Add about one lemon per quart. Excellent.
