Pssst, Josh... here's a helpful hint; DOGS hafta go outside, people use that room with the big magical bowl of water that makes things disappear!

Giving kids fire truck rides today, annual spring thing. The public pre-school program here has 3 autistic kids in it this year, and 4 more registered to start in the fall. Sarcasm aside for a moment; what's up with this? Are we getting better at recognizing things such as this or are there really more kids affected by it? We've already seen a dramatic increase in the last few years in the amount of kids with serious allergies and other respiratory conditions, and now the incidences of autism seem to be rising. Maybe just because of the fact there are more kids now than ever, we see more of them with problems? Just wondering what view(s) the rest of you might have.

Ok, sarcasm re-engaged.

The first time I saw one, I was in awe. The power they make is very impressive. I love doing the tear down and rebuilds of them, They're very easy to work on because of the size of the parts. It's really cool to see one that's had a catostrophic failure. I think thats where the phrase fubar comes from.

Ever seen the engines inside the navy ships? One of my HS teachers was in the navy, and he showed us pictures of him standing up were the crankshaft was suposed to be in one of them... they burnt a piston and had to pull it out... he was 6'2" or so... Amazing...

Another day at work. Nuff said.

Josh, nice TB. Makes me envy ya...

Goin to wash the truck, I think. Got Unit PT tomorrow, so no beer for me.
Went on a little stroll when I got home tonight, too....

See ya'll later.

Late afternoon everyone.

Thanks chaikwa, I'll bring it up shortly, next time I make it around that part of the country.

Mark, no reason to envy me, I think the envy should be going the opposite direction.

Cleaned my room up real good this afternoon. Got a bunch of clothes and shoes to donate, so I'm about to go up to the little donation box thingy they have by the grocery store. Gotta put #2 in the truck as well. That's about it around here. Been tired today. Doing stuff, but not enough apparently.

Ah well. Take care everyone. Have a good evening with your families!

Yeah I've seen the inside of a naval ship. Some of the power plants in those make the loco engines look tiny. The EMD diesel engines I work on are used in some of the navys smaller ships. At least they use to be, they probably have a more up to date engine now.

gas is high but the temp is in the 40s with a 30mph steady wind.windchill is 11 degrees farenheight. doctor stuff as usual, WAS going to be watchful lumberjack tomorrow but will have to see what is planned for 04CTD roamings. phone calls and computer stuff heating up with new job. not used to that, getting grumpy like the janitor....oh my!

MADHAT: Mark I saw a mug that had printed on it "the man, the myth, and the legend" that was Chaikwa's new title request. at least he feels better about being the janitor. good work! Everyone else , play along.

where has ChrisR been? T rad too for that matter....we miss you's guyz!!

still have about three or four projects to do, just have to get down and knock them off.

JBark- nice tool box man. a picture of my barn would make you laugh (three full tool boxes and a 12 foot wall rack, tools still cover the work bench) doesn't mean it is organized but I know where stuff is......

Evening

Josh nice tool box hope it does you well. Looks like it will be neat and tidy once your done.

Heidi glad your bro in law liked it. Hope the bushes produce like they did last year. Love home made stuff like that in the middle of the winter. Your weather seems a little cool for this time of year???

Scott one reason I think there is more incidents of allergies etc. is because of antibiotics. Every time a child gets a sniffle the parents take them to a doctor. The parents expect the doc to do something (because their paying big $$$) so they prescribe antibiotics even if it's viral. As for some of the other I think they are just getting better at diagnosing maybe. Not sure.

Redleg we have lots of shroooms growing and would like to use them but can't tell the good ones from the bad ones. Don't want to poison ourselves. Hmmmm wonder if the mother in law would want to test them out for me??? Hahaha

Better get some shuteye. Birds sure are starting to make a lot of noise in the AM now. Waking me up before the alarm. BTW geese at work have their young ones hatched and are swimming with them. Still ***** of fluff and no real feathers yet. Nighty Night DTR.

Evening all. 0800 here. Just got back from my evening PT. Hot as heck out there. Still 101 out. Puts a drag on your running, literally. Need water. Had too big of a supper too before I went out.

Now I'm going to do nothing. Read some more of the book I am currently reading, for like the eigth time, The American Way of War: A History of United States Military Strategy and Policy

It is the standard when it comes to US Military History. Nothing else competes. Read it. Now.

Take care all

Josh
