Yet Another Email Scam!

Below is the Chase Bank response to an email I sent regarding an email I received that was supposedly for Chase. Below that is the email I received.

Dear C. XXX
Thank you for contacting the Internet Service Center.
The e-mail you received is not from Chase and it's an

attempt to phish your personal information. We appreciate

you for contacting us regarding the e-mail that you have

distributed to customers and non customers that are

"phishing" for information fraudulently bearing the Chase

will be suspended unless you respond to the e-mail, or

asking for your personal information, it is a fraudulent

e-mail. These communications did not come from Chase.

Please do not release your personal information or fill

out or send back any forms. For your future reference,

please forward all suspicious and fraudulent e-mails to

abuse@chase.com and then delete the e-mail.

You may e-mail us or contact our Internet Service Center

at 1-877-242-7372.

Thank you, Jorrod Rodriguez

I got one too.

Funny thing, I have no accounts with Chase.

I get them from pretty much every bank, credit card company, paypal, etc, on almost each email address I have.

I use only one of them for my real online account access with the cards I do actually have or paypal.
Funny how I don't get them on that account.

I removed the links in the original post on the thread. The last thing we need is for someone to click one of them and get Phished from the DTR. LOL

I get them from ebay AND paypal as well.I just forward them to spoof AT ebay or paypal as the case may be and they will reply with a thankyou usually. If you question the validity of any email you can tell where it came from by right clicking on the header and selecting "properties".Click on "details" then "message source" and generally the last "from" entry will be the address that sent it to you. There is a free program called "IPINFO" that will fancy up the process and the results if you want to search it out.Ron G

Boy, someone has put me on the poop list. I got this one today. It was titled "Customer Service", with subject line: "Your friend has recommended you". bounce-1xwrmweb.co.uk sounds a little "fishy" to me. I replace the "@" with an "X" in the addresses, but I still wouldn't click on the link.

Once you get on a list, they all hammer you endlessly. I must get around 3 or 400 emails a day, and I have to sort through those that my spam filter does not catch, as well as look at the spam to be sure I havent deleted good mail.
