XM or SIRIUS and WHY?
After driving through Western Montana today without any radio reception I'm thinking about a one or the other.
Which one do you recommend and why? Which receiver is best for each?

We just got my dad Sirius and my brother researched it and I guess they are better but they also have good deals. I trust my brother and he knows a lot about this so I'm going to get it when I have the money. I will ask him for specifics why they are better and post.
Sirius also has a station dedicated to Eminem. Don't know if yall care or not. I chose XM cause my roommate had it and I really enjoyed the programming on it. We just put XM into my mom's Dmax and it's great. Plus we get a family discount now.
I have had XM for 3 years now, I had it when there were comercials on all channels
. I have not had any probs. at all. Went with XM because they were cheaper. I can always find something to listen to. Plus looking at their stock, I think they are doing a little better.

I chose XM three weeks before Howard anounced his move. I regret it now.
Oh XM's music is great and all... I just don't want to have switch services in the next year.
I honestly think it's 6 of one and 1/2 dozen the other...

I have Sirius and love it. Buddy has XM and loves it.
pretty much they are the same thing just some programming differences. I do know that I can log on to Sirius on the internet and listen that way for no extra money a month whereas my buddy says he would have to pay for that feature. I fire it up all the time while I'm surfing my only complaint is I can't get the full blow channel line up streaming across the net (only get music channels) which isn't so bad but it would be nice to listen to FOX News or fire up Radio Disney for the kids while we play with our choo-choo's.
Now not all channels are commercial free, it's only the music stations, the ext channels like Fox News, CNN or weather channels feeds have commercials- so just be aware.
But my buddy has ridden with me on many occasions and says yep it's pretty much the same thing just different package.

I picked XM because of the hardware, The Roady 2 is smaller than a pack of cigarettes and is entirely self contained. This allows me to swap it between 2 vehicles daily with the only additional expense being a second antenna. So for $170 I have XM in my Dodge, the truck at work, and at home.
I can't stand Howard Stern.

I have the XM Roady 2 in my truck, and the wife has a different XM in her car. We both love and The only problem I have had would be trying to find a dead FM channel to listen to the XM on. I just got the hard wire modulator, but need to put it in. The model the wife has, allows you to take the 'radio' and isert it into the 'boom box' and listen to it that way too. The wife said when she was looking at them, XM had more channells, so look at the line up.
I've had Sirius for almost 2 years now and it just keeps getting better and better. I have really enjoyed the NFL on Sirius, and they are now advertising full coverage of College Basketball. These two items alone make it worth it to me. As for Stern, who gives a....

I've had XM for about 1 1/2 years and have no complaints. Reception and sound quality are great. Probably could pick either and be happy. Bad thing is it makes regular radio seem horrible.
I'll probably go with Sirius bscause they are coming up with a Canadian package as well (Back bacon and maple syrup futures and the like).
However, the Howard Stern thing has me thinking. Talk about the Dumbing of a nation.

Spelling edit done. I apologize. Never use spell check, so once in a while, my fingers are moving faster than my built-in. Rick
