I've had Sirius for over 2 years now, the Fiance has it, and I have a tuner at home too. I originally chose it for the no commercials option, but thats a moot point now.

The gap has narrowed between the two services, but I still prefer Sirius for their better dance music lineup.

As for Stern and Eminem, I could care less about them. If they raise my rates cause of Stern, I'm gone.

Don't let the Howard Stern thing polarize you and make up your mind for you. If you don't want to listen to him, don't switch to his channel. XM has Opie and Anthony, two NY shock jocks that are supposedly even more potty mouthed and outspoken than Stern.

How long has Stern been broadcasting on Sirius? He's not even supposed to move to Sirius until 2006 right? Sirius also has NHL.

I've got O&A on Xm but don't listen to them very much (came in a package deal). I do like the 24/7 traffic & weather for the major cities. I use it often for Baltimore, DC and Philly (that alone is worth the subscription); and its nice to listen in to the traffic jams in Detroit, San Diego, LA and rain in Seattle. I'd guess that Sirius has the same feature?

Looking forward to Big 10 and ACC NCAA basketball on Xm this winter.

$9.99/month. Worth every cent.

Actually Delphi used to be a division of GM, they (Delphi) are now thier own company, still have many ties to GM naturally but they also have many other auto companies they do business with. The only reason I know this is they made the switch in the June of 1999 which is when I left, I was shuffled out the door with the rest of the GM employees. Delphi is what is considered a Tier One supplier which means they supply directly to the factory, does not mean they are part of the factory/company.

Three stations... Man he must have really got them over the barrel to get that deal. I was under the impression that he was only going to be on Raw Dog Comedy Channel, I was also under the impression that he was to be starting at the first of this year... Shows how much I'm awaiting his arrival to Sat Radio huh... As long as they don't park him on one of the channels that I listen to I'll be a happy camper, I don't really care for him but that's just me...

I want to thank everyone for your input. I have made a decision!

I know that Sirius has NFL, but with each team only playing 17 games, on Monday nights, some Thursday nights and Sundays, I would not use that feature at all. Now with XM having MLB, with each team playing 100+ games on almost every day of the week, that I will use. Then after looking at the "Talk Radio" line-up between the two, I liked XM's line-up better.

So I purchased a Delphi SkyFi2 with the SkyFi2 Car Kit off EBay for $125.00 plus shipping. Circuit City and Best Buy wanted $200 for them. I'll install it myself!

Thanks again!

Didn't see it mentioned so I will...

Edmunds just did a comparison of the two services:

A buddy has Sirius and I have XM, the line ups are nearly identical, there is only so much music out there. XM's subscription is cheaper, they have a much larger customer base (read longterm stability). Besides have you seen the size of the Sirius unit? OMG it's huge, I'll take my nice little XM Roady 2 with the stock ticker anytime.

Sirius. More choices, more variety, no commercials on the song channels.

Big Bob, thats a pretty good deal. I'm looking for a SF2 for the house.

For your next car kit, go look for them Wally World; I bought one for $48.
