Pretty sure I got setup last night. Ford Explorer sitting at a stop sign waited until I got right on him and pulled out. I evaded but still clipped him. Almost knocked my front end off but barely dented him.

We get off the road and then 4 car loads of people drive up. We saw everything! Do you speak Spanish? I guess I look like I do...
Don't call the cops, they won't come out for stuff like this.

No way jose, they are on the way. 3 of the cars drove off. 1 stayed trying to get me to give them my insurance card. give it, not see it.
LE gets there pretty quick. Now no one can speak English. No ID, no Insurance.

Driver goes to jail for failure to identify and no insurance. I get cited for failure to control speed

Has anyone ever had this happen or fought the scam where they slam on brakes in front of you?
Mainly I don't want my insurance company to pay to fix a vehicle that shouldn't have been on the road in the first place.

My adjuster says they flat out will not pay to fix a vehicle that is uninsured and being driven. So that's all I was shooting for.
He went to jail, got towed, they are going to ticket the person that let him drive the car with no license and no insurance.

I get to do defensive driving, and a deductible and drive my Ferd for 10 days.

I'll take that.

 

Beats what happend to my bro....

illegal pulled out in front of wife...Her explorer creamed the little car. He walked out called his buddy & proceeded to unload the tools from his car. By the time the cops & my bro got there, all the cop could do was cite the illegal. My bro asked about hauling him off & INS. No joy...he wasn't drunk & INS was not in their jurudiction to call.

My bro got in the illegals face & explained that if he was in mexico & did this with no insurance & no license, he'd be hauled off to jail. The illegal just sat there & said 'si' all the time.

im glad it all worked out for you. when 4 cars pull up that can be a tense time becuase you never know what you would be dealing with. i can promise you i would be on the defense from the get go. i was at a 4 way stop sign. came to a complete stop, proceeded through and a car looked right at me and ran the sign. it was an old beater so im sure they were looking to get hit. but my big grill gaurd would have been right in their do so i say bring it!! i want a fab 4 anyways
