My UPS guy at work mistakenly took an unmarked package off our work table. It was sitting next to the stuff he was supposed to take but was unmarked nonetheless. Well, it contained two $100.00 batteries for a motorized handtruck I sell and of course he doesn't remember it and UPS accepts no responsibility since it was not on the pickup manifest!!!!!
I learned my lesson.......

Expect prices to increase with both UPS and FEDEX next year. I swear they can tack on surcharges if they want to whenever they want to. I work for the Postal Service and we only have one or two surcharges on certain classes of mail (packages) and we are cheaper and the service times are better overall.

I have to respond because of my hatred for UPS. Slowest shipping out of any shipper. Why does it take 12 days to ship something that USPS can ship cheaper in 3? I also had 3 fenders damaged in a row by UPS and the last one was lost on returning it for the claim. Didn't get refunded because they lost the damaged part. Brown is an appropriate color for the level of service they provide. Perhaps I will begin refusing to order from people that will only ship UPS.

That's what I do. If they don't offer USPS, then I won't order from them. Sometimes you don't really have a choice because of weight (USPS is 70lbs max) but I almost never order anything that big. Also, UPS uses USPS to delivery some of their packages. Next time you get a package from the Postal Service, look at the label and see if it states Parcel Select on it. If so, UPS dropped it off at the Post Office for us to deliver it but they charged you(the customer) a premium price for them to delivery it. I guess it's cheaper to pay the USPS than pay their own drivers.

DHL is great. I had some valves shipped from Germany. They called me Friday AM here, Friday PM there. I had them at my house by 9AM Monday morning. They screwed up on my address and only had my name, city and phone number. I still had it by 9AM. Those darned efficient Germans. UPS is getting as slow as the USPS.

The Germans arrive with one heck of a start (Blitzkrieging Poland, France, etc.), but we'll see how fast they are in a few years. LOL
