Wireless Router

I have a NETGEAR wireless router. Had it for a number of months. I never secured it. No intructions to be found, anymore. Anyone out there that can help me get it secured off to the rest of the world.

Thanks

yup, open a internet browser window then type in either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and press enter. One of those should take you to your router control page. You will probably have to log in and the default user name is usually admin or administrator and the password is either blank (nothing) or admin. Once you log in you will see various tabs to do different thing. It should be kind of self explanitory from there. Go to the security settings and enable WEP and stuff. You can make is 64-bit or 128-bit security. Let me know if you need any help from there.

I've got a NETGEAR also. You need to type in routerlogin.net with the www in front of course (didn't want to make a useless link). Type in admin for the username and whatever password you made. You may not need to since it's not secured. Once in the user menu click on security and you should have some different security options. If you haven't created a password yet you'll have to now. I can't really remember the rest because I don't have the instructions with me right now. You should be able to get the rest from the NETGEAR website. It's pretty easy to do. You'll also have to set your computer up with the password so it can automatically link up the the router.
