Im running win 7 32 bit. Im gets sluggish every now and then, but nothing a reboot wont fix.
if you run windows update, you can select which updates to install and you can tell it not to remind you of the update that is causing you issues.

i have rebooted a half dozen times.
downloaded a "Win 7 service Pack 1" tonite,
gonna break out the CD's an do a fresh install if ain't a good update via Windows to fix it by tomorrow.

There are a handful of "optional" updates after Win7 SP1 that you'll want to install. Mine was buggy for awhile after SP1, but after a week of more updates and running, it's back to normal now.
Food for thought: If you don't have more than 4GB of RAM, you're probably better off running the 32-bit version.
