Question why do we do things fast??

well im kinda doing this project where im digging into the elements of speed and such. if anyone could help me by answering a couple of these questions i have.

Why do we do things fast?

What is the drive that makes us want to go fast?

do you think things should be taken slower?

are there any differences in men and women in regards to going fast or doing things fast?

and anything else you can think of regarding this. Share your thoughts

I laugh every morning when I see people driving like maniacs to go to WORK... They must really enjoy their jobs!!!
I know that when I go to the mall I know exactly what I want and I just want to get it and get out of there and if I'm not paying attention I will find myself almost speedwalking. If I have my kids with me I have to make a conscious effort to slow down....

I find that the older I get the more I am content to just cruise along. Don't get me wrong I get a thrill about driving fast or ripping along on my snowmachine, but in general where I used to drive like a bat out of hell everywhere I went, now I am content just crusing along to get there.

When there is work to be done I like to get it out of the way, but tend to plan it out to get it done efficently.

I have noticed my wife tends to want to go like heck right now but dosent plan and tends to take longer doing things.

I must say that the both of us have a problem with instant personal gratification. If we decide we want somthing we get it right then instead of waiting or looking around a bit.

I don't have that problem. I have trouble when I do things half fast.

If I'm going slow and you pass me, I'm on my way to work. If I'm on your tail, I'm on my way home from work, GET OUT OF THE WAY!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming..............

I go fast at work because I can leave when I'm done.
I go fast on my projects because they are so much fun.
I go slow with my wife because she's so much fun.

I'm in no hurry to get things done, I just hate taking time doing it.
In, out, and on my way!
