The "Where Did Spring Go" Breakroom Apr 3-9

Just getting home from work.
When I went in (Saturday at 19:00 hrs), the weather was Partly Cloudy and mid 60 degrees.
Now, rain, winds gusting to 60 mph and temps in the low 40s.
Supposed to be chilly all week.
Have a good rest of your weekend.

Friday it was nice for awhile, then got cold and rainy, then the wind came up. Blew like crazy all night from the north. Coolers, lawn furniture, etc on the front porch were all scrambled up and blocking the door. Had to go around and straighten things out. Wind continued to blow all day. Finally started to lay down about 3 and I was able to cut some fire wood.
c c c cold this morning.

Happy Sunday all y'all. I can tell you where spring went. It came to southern Alberta. It has been in the high 60's and low 70's here for the last few days. The only downside to the early and awesome spring we are having is that most of southern Alberta is under total fireban. The grass and stubble fields are like tinderboxes. We live right beside the main CP Rail line for western Canada and it isn't unheard of for the trains to cause sparks and grassfires. About a decade ago the trains caused a lot of fires around here and since then CP has gotten better at keeping the railbeds free of weeds so we should be safe from train caused fires but we still keep our eyes open.
Play safe and have a great Sunday.

Spent 3 hours today being Safety Pilot for a guy transitioning from Military rotor to Civilian fixed wing CFI. PA-28, but had an interesting time. During ILS approach to KJVY, radio failed and had to transition to NDB. Really made for a fantastic end of the week!
Leftovers are on the counter, DW cooked a bunch yesterday. Enjoy!
We have frost and sleet in the forecast all week........

I hate theives.
Someone got into the amigo and stole my DeWalt drill and impact driver, the case with probably $50-$60 of drill and driver bits, and the charger that was under the spare tire in the far back.
But didn't take the satellite radio that was sitting on the front seat.
Looks like a good time to upgrade to Milwaukee, they don't cost much more on evilpay. Anyone know if all Milwaukee 18v batteries are the same?

I love my Milwaukee impact guns.
My 3/8 drive that I bought 3 years ago, came with XC 4.0 18V batteries.
My 1/2 drive gun I bought last summer, came with XC 5.0 18V batteries.
They both have the same design so they could be interchangeable, but I have been able to keep the spare charged so I use the bigger battery in the bigger gun so far.

Morning all. I agree about the thieves. Sad where we have come in our country. When I was a kid, we seldom locked our front door or the car doors. Why? No regular citizen would dare come around and intrude - - we were brought up different. Now it is intrusion devices w/auto dial to the police, video monitors, horn honkers on our cars with GPS perchance they got away with it - - they can shut mine down if someone takes it.
Enough of that or I will ruin my day - - and yours. Coffee and ph00 are on and brought some more baked French toast today - - - ohhh that stuff is soooo horrible. (ok Bob, quit eating it or none left for everyone else - - - bbooooo)
Off to buy some replacement plants for the ones that did not like this past winter. Then, finish fertilizing and mulching. Then on to the heating pad for two days.

It's mondsy morning, what a joy
And off we go to our employ
Hope your weekend was well spent
I, my master bath reno, did dent
The floor is bare and walls to stud
The tub is gone ( it was a dud)
The vanity had disappeared
Now to rebuilding I must get geared
New tub and shower I will install
And tile lay on floor and wall
The wife will be in estacy,
Over her new vanity
But first I must redo plumbing
To keep the toliet drain a'humming
Drywall hang , tape and mud
To cover up ugly wall stud
New electric I must also run......
Isn't reno just so fun??

Again I sit all broken hearted,
I want to rhyme but can't get started.
Unlike Chris whom oozes prose,
His talent apparent head to toes,
Sadly for me I continue to think and beg,
That I don't get stuck rhyming about Scotty's LEGGS.

If of Scotty's LEGGS you are dreamin'
Man, your brain must be a steamin,
Steamin' like a moose turd pie
Heaped up deep and not too dry
Scotty's LEGGS are best unseen
For he is no shapely beauty queen
Upon whom we might like to gaze
Whose pretty legs leave us unfazed.
So Top I pray you happier thoughts
Than dwelling on the LEGGS of Scott!!

Chris - - you are a mess.............
................Love it.
My day sure changed from plans. Went by to visit my friend in the nursing home. He was laying out in recliner sound asleep, mouth open, and drawing quick breaths of air. Nurse could not awaken him easily, so told her leave him sleep. This was about 10:30 am. I sat with him and talked softly in his ear hoping he could hear me. No reply. Listening to his breathing, I was hearing my mother her last day on this earth. I sat with him about 45 minutes holding his hand and praying over him. I felt compelled to ask God to release him from his bondage of a worn out body - - let him come home to Heaven. Ray was a very godly man and I knew he was ready to meet his maker. I no sooner got the prayer asking for release out of my mouth and he quit breathing. I was shocked, goose bumps as I felt the presence of God in the room. This lasted about 20 seconds, then Ray took in a gasp of air, then resumed his short labored breathing but working harder at it now. But, in my heart I knew the end was near. I had a release and joy that all was going to be well and Ray would not be suffering. I would miss him, but so happy he was going without a struggle. I ran out to the nurse and told her to call his son in Ohio and let him know he needed to get down here quick and why. She looked at me like I was crazy. She came in with me and listened more closely to his breathing and agreed. I stayed a few more minutes and left. I had a phone call by the time I got home and Ray had died just a few minutes after I left. Lucky guy - - he is where we all want to go. I almost made it once but Ray beat me. Quite a day. I have a wonderful peace about his going like that. Wow, still gives me goose bumps remembering the feeling I had when he quit breathing.
Just had to share an amazing experience with you, gang. This was quite a day and will be remembered a long time. Hard to describe the feeling I had
at that moment - - the peace and reality of life was so strong. Still is. Did not mean to offend anyone, but I hope you take it in the spirit it was intended. I needed to share an amazing moment in my life with you. I have a bit of the feeling a soldier must feel to hold a wounded buddy on the battlefield and feel his life leaving his body. Awesome moment.
Going to shut this thing off for today. Have a good sleep.
