Ah yes, the older I get the older my definition of "middle-aged" becomes.<br><br>70ish man sitting in the waiting room of the hospital maternity ward for his "Trophy Wife" to deliver.<br>The nurse comes out and tells the geezer, "Your wife has just delivered twins, a boy and a girl."<br>The old man jumped up and exclaimed "Just 'cuz there's snow on the roof, doesn't mean there's not a raging fire in the furnace".<br>To which the nurse replied, " Then you might want to change the furnace filters, 'cuz both of the babies are black.

Wow, 6 pages, I sure am late getting in here. I can see we need to hurry up and get internet access for the shop !<br> When I'm not working at the shop, I'm at my regular job as a process controls/automation/robotics mechanic for 3M. I repair the machines that give the world it's supply of Post-It(tm) Notes, and Scotch Tape. <br> I used to be a plant electrical maintenance technician at the factory where Cattle Hauler works, we've known each other for years, and are just now renewing our friendship over these trucks. ;D

Well, I hesitate to reveal what I do -- partly because somebody on this forum once called me an "international man of mystery" (how do you know I'm a "man", buster?), and partly because people sometimes feel uncomfortable around overeducated, pompous as*es like me.
But, OK, I'll out myself -- I'm a college professor with a specialty in science policy and international relations, and I do a lot of consulting here and there. I also write science fiction on the side -- and get a fair amount published in some of the mags out there. When I was twenty years younger, I used to race Jeeps offroad in the southwest, but the kidneys and the reaction time ain't what they used to be.
My sister-in-law says I'm a great guy because I don't act like some "major professorial f***." I regard that as one of the most generous compliments I've ever had. ;D
