Thats right - we are in a Global economy. Just because we arent buying fuel here in North America - China, India or whoever else still wants it and are more than happy to pay the price. Unfortunately, the oil companies have us over a barrel (pun intended) due to lack of refining capacity - and they KNOW it. Happy motoring.

 

Who givs a poop we will always have some sort of independant transportation and we will always have to pay for what ever it is tha fuels that transportation. Its not even worth looking at the prices just fill up and go do what you have or want to do you have no other choice at this point in time .

Worrying about fuel prices is no better than worrying about the weather I think I'll worry about something I can control.

 

Not only does china, india, and most of the rest of the world happily buy it. they buy the high sulfur stuff that "WE" wholesale at a discount because it doesn't meet the EPA requirement.

 

Drive less and wait till the dollar strengthens.

 

That is the only REAL solution to high fuel prices.
If a large percentage of the folks drove less often or carpooled more often we could reduce the demand. Moving the demand to another retailer isn't going to do squat!

I did something that is making a difference.... Im now riding my 15 year old mountain bike everyday.

Shrinks the gut and doesn't consume fuel.

Actually it does consume fuel...that excess fuel that so many of us take in at every meal!!!

 

In the last decade the value of the dollar is 50% of what it was against the Euro. Oil in Dollars is still affordable to everyone else which drives up their demand. Add in the fact that we still have increasing demand and the price is gonna go up even more.

I'm referring to crude here but gas/diesel, same thing it's a world market.


Gotta weight the benefits of a strong vs weak dollar though so I don't think it's all that bad really for most people..... but IMO its getting rediculous driving this big truck if I'm not towing. I'm on the motorcylce as much as possible.

 

It will just increase demand at the other stations which will raise their prices and use exxon/mobil as their own supplier.
