What we are going to do about fuel prices

GAS PRICES!

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they w ill continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action.
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas .

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.49 for regular unleaded in my town, Seattle.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
&n bsp;
The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit
someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If
they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literal ly millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at lea st ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers .
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
;
I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Boys its time to get some ***** and get this thing rolling

This has been around sooo much...it makes my head spin.

easy answer- take the fancy drivers, suburbans and excess limos, planes, helicopters away from the politicians. make them pay and wait for health care like we have to-----

when we as Americans can pull together for our own good (instead of actions on 9-11-01) then we will have true power to change course.

but for now- we just have to cuddle up to DTR and get good advice!!!
or bad coffee....

oil, and fuels, are a commodity. it doesn't matter who drilled the hole, who negotiated the lease, or where it entered the pipeline, oil is oil.
oil is distilled into a fuel, it goes into another pipeline to be pumped to a distribution center. Everyone taps out of the same tanks. from the mom and pop shops to Shell. Granted, the stations pick their formula, they all tap off the same base products.

not buying one stations fuel will effect the profitablity of the sales side. This will be seen by management as they need to close the stores putting the clerks out of work.
Will this change the drilling locations?
Will this change the price of oil traded on free market?
Will this change the price of fuel traded on free market?
Will this change the value of the US dollar?

There are alot of countries that pay alot less for fuel than we do.
There are countries that pay alot more for fuel than we do.

In the process of fuel prices tripling, the price of gold has tripled.
The exchange rate of the dollar has plumetted also.
At one time it was 2 Canadian/1USD, close to 1 GBP/1USD, 10 NOK/1USD.
Now its closer ot 1 to 1 on canada, 2 to 1 on GBP and 5 to 1 on NOK.

Man....not another one of these threads.

I don't think we'll ever see 1.30 a gallon again, but I would be happy to pay 2.00/gal for the rest of my life. I'd be more than happy to pay even less than that.

I agree. Way too much repetition in that message and it gets irritating.
I do agree that the concept may work if you could indeed get millions of people to join in but we all know that's virtually impossible. I buy from Sheetz as it is the cheapest station around me. I guess I'm already doing my part.......

you might hate the emails but what do you hate more exxon mobile making another record profit year from your pocket or just a email, we all talk about how crapy the fuel prices are, im paying 4.75+ for diesel and gas is around 4 bucks, and up here in canada we make more of the oil, but ship to you guys before they take care of us, it makes sence and if every body did it it might work, exxon mobile will not lay off people or close places, they will drop the prices before that

getting something like this to happen might make sound good, but it's not practical.

Kinda like getting all the farmers in America to form a union and sell their crops retail, eliminate the middle men and become wealthy. Their all too independent to be part of a team, same as American drivers.

Drove the truck today and saw fuel prices at $3.99 per gallon. Great, went up .11cents since thursday. All it does is rise, all I can do is watch and wonder when I should start looking into a couple horses. What can we do, nothing, they got us by the.........well, you know. I want to know why bio diesel is just as expensive as regular diesel. Ok, it's .10cents cheaper than regular diesel.....Oooooohhhhh, what a steal.

No it doesn't make sense . Exxon-Mobil will just sell more oil in Europe and China where the real demand is and the real reason prices are rising . Like other members said in case you missed it , several different oil companies buy from the same refineries and tank farms . Quit buying from Exxon-Mobil and when Shell's supply gets low guess where they'll buy what they need - from Exxon-Mobil . Boycott your local stores that sell Exxon-Mobil and you will just her local people that aren't employed by Exxon-Mobil .

Actually I knew 2 years ago that fuel prices would soar and moved some of my investments to take advantage of the situation, by watching the markets you can see trends long before they become reality.

I hate paying high prices at the pump just like everyone else but all the feel good emails isn't going to do one iota to fix the problem. Oil prices are higher than ever and the value of our US dollar is lower than ever and that is where the majority of the problem comes from.

I am not going to go into depth here on the reasons, it has already been beat to death in other threads. Bottom line is we all need to make some changes in how we use our vehicles because those low fuel prices are likely gone forever.

Trying to force one company to lower prices by boycotting them isn't going to help, they will simply send the fuel where they are willing to purchase it like China.
