What I've been up to

Not the ideal time to have a timber sale. Prices are still pretty low. But I need to start cleaning up my woodlot so good stuff can actually grow and provide some decent income in 10 or 15 years. So for the past few weeks, in between all the regular stuff, I've been playing lumba jack.

Already have a decent pile starting to accumulate but there probably isn't more than 4 or 5 hundred bucks represented here:

My little car frame turned hay wagon turned log forwarder is holding up for the time being. I'd really like to get more on it but I don't think it would take it:

Notice the back wheels leaning in ways they really aren't supposed to! I didn't look to see if it was the old Ford car axle that was bending or the rims:

If you get bored, you can head down to Colorado to the rockies to blow up some cows..

They need someone with Dynamite experience in blowing up popsickle cows...

You have been a very busy man Scott. Heck, between hauling the fire setter, safe trailer all over creation then teaching said programs then logging out your acreage yous been real busy! Lotta hard work, sure you been doing most of it by yourself.

Yeah, this isn't something most people look at and say, "Wow! I just GOTTA try that"! I have a friend down the street that's been helping me get it from the landing to the yard tho. He usually pulls the forwarding trailer with his tractor so I don't have to fight with getting the tongue unhooked and hooked back up again after I unload it.

It DOES seem to get in your blood tho. I started when I was 16 or so and have been dabbling in it ever since. 'Course now, I don't have the skidders, tub grinders, feller/bunchers and all the other assorted toys, so it's manual labor this time around.
