Been sulking about Heidi trying to make some of us older folk feel really old. Not nice. Oh, well, maybe there is a grain of truth there, so will overlook her transgression - this time.
I am a Liaison Engineer. I build new airplanes. Most people have no idea what this job entails, so here is the abbreviated official description:
Liaison Engineering acts as an interface between Production and the various Engineering functions such as Design, Stress and Certification, as well as our Suppliers and Partners. The goal of Liaison Engineering is to support and facilitate the development, production, assembly and delivery of our products.
Bottom line is that I represent all engineering departments on the airplane production line, therefore am supposed to know everything about everything. Yeah right! ie Mr. Engineering. Also train rookie engineers from scratch.

Had a few fresh Killian's from tap tonight, got all my tomorrow am stuff done already, bonded with the kids a little... I feel ok.
See ya'll in the am. Bout to go make the coffee, stay away from my JOE!!!

You ever try to tell an engineer he's wrong? Talking about Ego's. . . .
I remember one of my Proff's was an ego mainiac. 15 years later, I'm standing in the engineering section of the main campus building at NCE. He wanted to use one VFD to start 2- 200 HP blower motors. I kept telling him it couldn't be done. He ripped me a new one. But he ordered the 400HP drive anyway. 2 months and $30K later, He called me and asked how much 2- 200's were. Commented that the Fire Department took a half an hour to put the fire out.

From then on he puckered up everytime he needed me. Interesting, I was awful at therory. But practical, I was on top of the class. All during school, he just kept saying not to go to work for NASA.

I have plenty of arguements in my history. . . I bet you do too.

I know all about that. Had many an intense "discussion" with some of those higher educated idiots who thought that all the letters behind their name meant that they knew better than my practical experience. Have not lost too many technical arguments.
Now, if you want to know how many arguments I have won with my wife .....
MONDAY, OCTOBER 3rd:
1863 - U.S. President Lincoln declared that the last Thursday of November would be recognized as Thanksgiving Day.
1901 - The Victor Talking Machine Company was incorporated. After a merger with Radio Corporation of America the company became RCA-Victor.
1906 - W.T. Grant opened a 25-cent department store.
1941 - Adolf Hitler stated in a speech that Russia was "broken" and they "would never rise again."
1944 - During World War II, U.S. troops broke through the Siegfried Line.
1988 - The space shuttle Discovery landed safely after its four-day mission. It was the first American shuttle mission since the Challenger disaster.
1990 - The Berlin Wall was dismantled eleven months after the borders between East and West Germany were dissolved. The unification of Germany ended 45 years of division.
1995 - O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman. Simpson was later found liable in a civil trial.
2001 - Near Manchester, TN, a passenger on a Greyhound bus slashed the throat of the driver. The resulting wreck killed six and injured 34 others. The driver survived his injuries. The attacker was killed in the accident and was identified as Damir Igric.
2003 - Ray Horn, of the duo "Siegfried & Roy," was attacked by tiger during a performance. Roy survived the attack after being dragged offstage. The tiger, a 7-year-old male named Montecore, was debuting in his first show.
2006 - North Korea announced that it would conduct a nuclear test as a key step in the manufacture of atomic bombs that it viewed as a deterrent against a U.S. attack. A date for the test was not announced.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?

Mornin'. Day shift is in. Good weekend to be a sports fan in Michigan. My brothers' heading to the Tiger game tonight. Got my fingers crossed for one of his buddies to chicken out. Got the roof mostly done last night. Just need to put the hip caps on yet. Gonna pick up some permachink and coat the mortar on the chimney brick. Still solid enough, but has some weather checking started. I used it on some stone work at the cabin about 5 years a go and the stuff is still in great shape. Coffee's ready, get some before it sets up.
Yeah, but first you need to larn how to spel. Most ungineer's can't.

But as you said, many engineers can't spell. My spelling is awful

Shorts, you have any more pics or a write up somewhere? I was kinda thinking of building a small press later and this might make a good attachment.

Oh, good morning gang. I'm late in reporting in.
Got a game tonight. Back on real grass tonight. The artificial turn is lame. I bought new socks too. These have stripes.
