afternoon boys....just checkin' in...1330 here...got the 2000# of compost down...workin' like a (add whatever you feel is appropriate)...back to work for me....have a goodin'....

A place is needed for us old guys.
Stables of sorts would more than be fit.
Where we could come in and drink a beer with each other.
And for others of us we could just chew and spit.

Our language sometimes gets spectacular.
Our minds may wander thru the night.
But our feelings we wish you'd remember.
Were very real then be they wrong or be they right.

The events of these days are uncomprehendable.
For those that have never been there.
We may call you cherrys and new guys.
We do it cause we really do care.

Where we were then was really unpopular.
What we were doing sometimes was insane.
But in closing I would ask you.
Please spare these troops our pain.

We came home and faced protesters.
Spit in our face was not unknown.
So when our guys do get back.
Hug them and say "GI, welcome home."

Yikes, more rain last night. Another deluge which turned many local roads into rivers within 15 minutes. In the last 15 days we have had all the rain we normally receive in 12 months. More to come apparantly. The weather sure is changing. None of the long time residents here have ever seen rain like this here, not even the grandparents.

Morning all, Stan.... how 'bout sending some rain this way. It's been two weeks. Suppose to get some last couple nights, but just clouds. I probably make less than half of what I think a weatherman makes, but I wish he had half my liability. :

Looks like Shorty had another totty last night, but I liked the poem.
