I do like the next post "the etiquette" I could do that, I'd love tot do that.
Did not mean to interfere with your post but as a transplanted yankee I was made aware of all the different "normal" things that other areas have not a clue. America is not ready yet, when it gets too bad, the anti-protesters will have had enough and a crowd of them will run a bunch like that off while the cops chuckle. See I really believe in America, and believe that one day things will go too far, the silent majority will step up to the plate and make people like that afraid to do their thing.

I will never forget, in the early '60s on Long Island, a young kid, innocent and naive, found a war sovenier of his fathers in the attic. It was a **** flag, he promptly flew it from his bike. Crowds gathered and half dozen police cars arrived. Bet his bottom was red that night.

America just has not gotten to the point where it is important enough. If it keeps up, it will. They keep it up at Walter Reed, some relative or Vet will take out a few of them and make national news, if the news will carry it. It is getting close, that is why the protesters had to be behind a fence at the last election campaign. They were protecting them more than anything.

How right you are. It still amazes me that some people are just so ignorant of others. I mean there are ways to do just about anythig the "right" way, and irrational, bad and stupid ways have almost never acomplished anythig. Hey, I am not a fan of this war either, even though my son already did one tour, and by the looks of it will do one more early next year. There is nothing, well almost nothing, I would not do to support all the men and women serving there. But I tell you this, I just as soon die than dishonor their service like those idiots are doing, in front of the hospital.

What ticks me off is not what they are doing as much as who they are doing it to. If they want to protest, protest at a military base, or better yet, at the Pentagon and Capitol building. Those are the people givinng the orders. The men at the hospital were just doing what they were trained to do, their job, which is following orders without question.

And no, I don't think they should be protesting at all...we are doing what must be done. But if they feel the need to protest, which they have the right to do, do it to the right people instead of insulting war veterans.

While I agree with you that they should be protesting outside bases or the federal buildings, they do have the right to protest wherever they want. It is in poor taste to protest where these soilders are trying to recover after defending their freedom of speech. I know if any of my family was recovering at a hospital with these people outside, I would deffinately lose my temper. Some people don't see the bigger picture of what these soldiers are doing. If it weren't for the many men and women that have fought for this country and gave their life for this country, we wouldn't have many of the liberties we have today.
