Try firefox.com. It is a way better browser and more user-friendly.
You can download Explorer 6 by going to microsoft.com, then downloads and look for it. It is there- I saw it 2 days ago.

Microsoft had to walk me thru unhiding folders to get to the uninstall program for IE7 so that I could do an upgrade from XPHome to XPPro. Couldn't tell you exactly where anymore but I'd start by looking for hidden folders in the Windows folder if IE7 is what you want to uninstall. Once you find it and get the folder unhidden, there is an uninstall program. Good luck.

Yep, IE7 bites. My wife had it come through one of those Windows Update events, and it installed before she knew what was happening! She lost all of her favorites, couldn't get her online college course to work with it, and her computer ran s-l-o-w-e-r-t-h-a-n-e-v-e-r-. We actually bought her an upgrade PC, and I rebuilt hers into a desktop for the boys to play on. She recovered her favorites by downloading Firefox, but her class was still not compatible. I went to Windows and downloaded IE6, which automatically tried to uninstall IE7, but it wasn't pretty. That was what sealed getting a new computer for her. I got everything stable so she could copy all her files she wanted onto DVD, then copied them over to her new system. She has been very happy since!

gah! I am sure glad I have a Mac!
try Firefox, it's free and easy to use and I have not run into anything it won't do yet, and I have had it as my main browser for a couple of years now.

I got rid of IE7 just by going to the Add-Remove programs in the control panel. Once I did that it automatically reverted back to IE6.

I dont mind the fact that I cant change back to IE 6, what get me upset is the fact that with the introduction of Vista, I went to the MSN site to see how compatable my unit is with the new program.
After scanning my computer, there was a statement at the bottom of the page that said I had to get a new computer.

Edwin, I'm with you on this one, soon as I can get 7 on our network at work will have it there. Hate using one (actually 3) computers with 6 and my internet computer with 7. I have firefox but IE7 has been extreemly nice to me, besides, there are alot of sites that get visited that dont like firefox. I do dread it when we have to go to vista though. Hope the next one is out before vendors stop supporting XP.

If you meant me, it's because all these stupid pop-ups. I get ZERO with Firefox, all 30 I get during a session are from.............IE6! I figure if I cut out that, then I lose the pop-ups! Makes sense to me at least, might not work as well as I hope. But I don't use it anyway.
