Wink nightshift on duty

missing the good stuff to keep perky....trooper's hockey pucks were pretty good.

missing out on Tim horton's hot stuff (almond roast mmmm) or DD iced stuff with cream and lasts all day long......guess fresh cider will have to do...ahhh

picked up apples, pears, black walnuts, tree limbs and dumped them in bedding places for the deer. rewarded with 10 point and friends coming to the salad bar.....please stay for hunting season! nice to watch a one horned six point- very thick (four inch?) antler. no wonder they thought of unicorns!

gotta agree with ofcmark- time to get ready for the winter. all the signs tell me unusually cold this year. we are taking a trip North to get a work barge and steel building off the property and bring it home. I will feel better when I get my logs cut up, split, and stacked. we are ahead by twenty cord but I like to get R done. paint and polish left to do for the one ton dodge and the little '85 mercedes. wait for a sunny day for that. old habits die hard, I still paint outside.

Good to see all the hard working folks back at it! retired my backside, my calendar is still filling up.....!

Heidi doing paperwork

Yeah, that an' the Farmers Almanac, the National Weather Service and all the meteorologists that have been ranting about what an unusually cold and snowy winter it's gonna be this year!

Morning all,

Got on the road early this morning to beat any traffic and ended up burning up my extra transit time driving around a wreck. Looked pretty bad ... result of the traffic lights being out and people not honoring the "You go first, then I'll go" rule.

Came in to a report that the ceiling had raised an inch in one of our office buildings. The vacuum of the wind blowing through the building had raised the entire suspended ceiling grid by an inch on one side. Good luck convincing the cubicle crowd that the sky isn't falling !!!

JWBM .... interesting pics. Good to see that Virginia City hasn't tamed down in the 22 years that I been gone !! Looks like you all had fun.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Wink good to see smiling faces and no rain!

CHAIKWA: (above comments)
Too busy to watch tv, don't spend money on an almanac either. just watching what grows and how much; fur on the animals and how they are eating like crazy, and my favorite wooly caterpillars (not your machine ones Scotty!) that have no black band at all this year. I am stocking up on hot tea and cocoa; good books and puzzles, hehehehh

MADHAT: Find the good in stuff, makes for better sleep. You have great kids and super woman there! enjoy! ask for help-04CTD will come up if there are brownies...with nuts.....(oh no, here we go again!)

JBark- good to see the handsome face! hope you have female customers...

FiverBob went to Tahoe. CIN- too many missions keep the hands hurting-slow down girl!!!! hope all is well!

REDLEG, hope this overtime pays for some Royal Coachman ties.... folks still comment on the Ice ......thank you again!!! and NO , would not fish with it.

time to get productive,
Heidi gone

Mornin' all,

NW Houston, 70 and sunny. Much of Houston still with out power. Wife is working by flashlight and daylight using a POTS phone.

Pistol, I know what you mean about that crash. We about got creamed the other day when a Chebby 2500 blew thru a intersection about 60 MPHwith no working traffic light, Be vigelent out there.

Schools not sure when they will reopen. It depends on power and water.

Gassed up the daughters Chr town and desert, $3.4999/ gal unlead reg. About a 20 min wait. Other stations back up about a mile.

JWBM great pix.

HAT good luck in the move.

To all up north, sorry we didn't drain the water and suck the wind outta IKE.
Looks like some got more rain than we did.

Have a good un and be safe out there.

Seen the same thing here, all the weather people are talking that we'll have very cold and snowy winter. I can give ya a hand with MovinHat, I'll borrow dads front end loader and we can get the job done quicker.

You got the easy part of the storm by you, lucky you did too. Alot of the communities up here didn't do to well through the rain. The little Calumet broke its levees and flooded I-94 and couple towns around it. Alot of damage was done in the past few days.

Those hurricane rains suck. They said we got more rain off of Ike than TX did. Hope everything is going well and get back to normal for you.

Good afternooner, took off work yesterday. Dad and I found a 1ftx2ft hole in the roof. Well it was that big after he stepped through it, he almost went through. Pulled up shingles and tar paper. We found one sheet of plywood had rotted from a gutter that was leaking on to it. We fixed it and re shingled in about 4 hrs, that was with running to the store. Everything else it fine for me but not for alot of the other residents of NW Indiana, massive flooding in a few couple towns near here. Went to work today, alot of the shop called off yesterday and then today. Did some work on an overhaul aligning a generator, love doing that kind of work. Gonna go out for wings and a few beers tonight.

it seems that after all the jokes about using the words BOMB-ing and such, they actually are what is causing the DoD Firewalls to block the site ! *roflmao*

Just down the road here too, but the BOSS is acting like we are going cross-country.. nerves are fraying and I caught myself eying the shovel ..
We flunked the inspection on the sewage lagoon, it seems the cattails in it were fine when we bought the house, but now aren't
Spent the day in a home-made HazMat suit( hip waders, enclosed safety goggles, and a taped up long sleeve shirt) wading in the sewage lagoon pulling the cattails out.
taken two showers and I still feel yucky...
brings a new meaning to the term S***-job for sure!

But the inspector is back out tomorrow at 0630, and it should pass and that will be that. Close on Friday and have 30 hours to get everything out.. no problem !

Went by the new Bass Pro Shop in KC yesterday, disappointing compared to the one in Springfield Mo....not as many wildlife displays and more a superstore atmosphere.
Well, time for another shower, then some grub..
Yall be safe

glad to hear our folks in Tx are mostly A-Ok, and everyone is well

later as I get a chance!
