Dixie,
With you being on the east side, you should have got slapped, but glad you didn't. Our worst thing is the trees down, about 12:45 a pine tree about 24" in diameter and 70-80 feet tall snapped off and slammed to the ground just about 20 feet from the vehicles. it was time to move them to the high school on the west side, only bad thing is the Jeep has no doors. We moved my truck, momma's new car, son's new truck and used the Jeep for transport, went back and got them about 5:00. I just wish the new house would hurry up and get finished, framing started last week and there will be NO FREAKING pine trees over 10 feet tall on our land

Power out at the house with trees strewn about. No rain or wind now. Several tornados touched down. Now we wait on the power.

Whew, what a blast! Power was out 20.75 hours. Got power restored at 4:15 AM Saturday. Watauga River out of its banks and over the bridges.

Nat, glad you are ok. I had no damage here, neighbors did. A lot of damage in the area, many roads closed, still a bunch of red lights out in Birmingham. Went to pick up some parts today, real mess in heavy traffic, no cops, no lights. So far have not heard of any of the board members having bad damage. Glad you are all ok.

Thanx Bill,
The news this morning said 8 people died in NC from weather related accidents due to Ivan. That's sad, but we're OK here. I haven't heard if Jack helped with any swift water rescues or not.? I know first hand many roads thru the mountains were washed out. Yesterday the scanner was busy with rescues of disabled folk when their drives were flooded. I hate to hear some didn't make it.

The southeast has had enough of this storm season, will be glad when winter season sets in and stops it. This has to be the worst season ever.
