lucas oil stabilizer
yesterday i drained 1 qt. of gear lube out of my manual tranny and added lucas syn. oil stabilizer, then took her for a test drive.at first i didn't notice much but after about 5 miles or so- wow
what a difference, tranny shifts much smoother, easier to find the gears, less effort, and falls rite in.just thought i would share this...

Due to some tranny noise, I did the same as P.O.R., then read the link posted above. So the next time I worked the truck, (hauled a Ford 555 backhoe 15 miles or so), I drained a few ozs. of oil as soon as I stopped, it was fine, no bubbles.
FWIW.
Good luck, RJR

Next weekend I am going to try a test. My wife's lifted Tahoe has had 10% Lucas in the diffs for about 10k miles. I will take it on a 80 mph hiway trip to get it up to opperating temp. Then bring it home and safely raise it, prep my tools and again run it up to speed and open the cover ASAP! This should be as close to real world conditions as can be. I will keep you posted.
