89 joined the gaurd HHB 1/119th FA<br>Gulf War started, joined the Army(wasn't doing anything productive anyway), was assigned to HHB 2/1 FA !st Armor Div. at Pinder barracks. Irondeuce. My MOS was a Fire Support Specialist (Forward Observer for artillary) so my F.I.S.T. team was assigned to C co 4/70 Armor 2nd Brig 1st A.D. Black Lions. (They say our brigade had the largest tank battle since WWII). I just remember the mortar that flipped my goggles over while in the drivers hatch of an APC.<br><br>The unit downsized and I was sent to the 260th FA Det at Fort Rucker, Al. Our mission was artillary support for the aviation and warrant officer school. Had to teach WOC's how to call for fire. Got sick of that and went to the Air Assault School and instructed a while. While there, the Army figured I didn't spend enuff time in Germany and sent me to Wildflecken. HHT 2/11 ACR, Blackhorse, Al-Ons. <br><br>Downsized again, and went to HHB, 1/5 FA 1st Inf Div. at Fort Riley, KS. Cold Steel. Got out in 94 and went back into the gaurd. They finally started throwing rockers in front of me when I told them I was done after three years.

 

US Navy 1984-1992 Nuclear Machinist Mate on Fast attack subs.<br>Re-enlisted in 1996 in the Reserves. Re-trained as Diesel Repair Technician.<br>Just retired due to disability from auto accident.

 

4 years Canadian army as a lineman then saw the light (actually got tired of humpin' my butt on the ground ;D) and did 4 more years in the airforce in C-130's (ground pounder to flyboy!)
