I remember some reporters who tried to jolly us up to be one of the guys. One of the stupidest questions they asked still sticks in my mind. "What's it like to kill someone?" My response never made it into the papers (go figure). It was unprintable anyway. No, Gear Poet, you are a brother in arms, even if you didn't wear the uniform. It's more a state of mind. You took your chances just like the rest of us. Far better than some of those cowardly ... don't even get me started. Sorry, my apologies.

~Dave

I found this on a RV Forum not sure if it's true but Hey if you live near one why not call and find out? ;D
We dont have any here.
Richard

"Golden Corral restaurants nationwide and the Disabled American Veterans are joining forces to honor our nation's heroes with Military Appreciation Night 2002 on Monday, November 11th, from 5-9 p.m. All 400+ Golden Corral restaurants spanning 39 states will offer veterans and retired and active duty members of the U.S. military a free dine-in dinner buffet plus beverage. This offer is also extended to members of the U.S. Reserves and the National Guard. All that is required to receive the free dine-in buffet is that all honored military guests state their military status when coming through the ordering line the night of the event."

In case you aren't aware of your nearest Golden Corral, here's a link: www.goldencorralrest.com/RestaurantFinder.asp
Re:Veteran Roll Call... Fall In!

Just out of curiosity, how did you count the ones who were in two services? One for each branch, or undecided?

Re:Veteran Roll Call... Fall In!

Drafted into the US Army, '66 to '68. Last year was spent as a wrecker operator in a 5 ton tractor/trailer company which ran supply conveys thoughout the central highlands of Viet Nam. No service in the reserves afterward.

I have profound respect and admiration for military men, but my tour of service was easily the worst 2 years of my life - especially the time spent in Nam.
