Vacation to Cali, got some questions?
Ok, my GF and I are taking a vacation to California in a few weeks for a wedding she is in. We're gonna be staying near San Jose area, i dunno where exactly because she's making all the hotel reservations and all. We're driving out there in the cummins, I haven't been out west since i was 14 (22 now) and my gf hasn't been out there since she was the same age. We wanna take our time going out there and stop in the rockies for part of a day and then stop at other places along the way, but when in California I'm gonna need something to do while she and the wedding party are doing all the pre-wedding stuff. So really what is there in the san jose area to do or go see? I'll go for anything interesting really, even if there are diesel shops near by I might do some spending or at least looking around. And for anyone that golfs is there a course thats reasonable there since I might bring my clubs and "try" to play? Last thing, how is california on the straight pipe issue? Sorry for the long post guys. Thanks!
Matt
*Edit* Found out that we're staying in Mountian View.

Ummm, coastal breeze's.
Your straight pipe can't be any louder than the ricers running around this looped out state. Try the link below for some "gawf". I've almost alway's had a great time and met great people-when "walking on" at a course. Just go out as a single, beat the pill around and enjoy the surrounding's. Have fun.............

If you want to see some beauty and get cooled off a bit take Hwy 84 west to the coast and go south to Santa cruise. Then come home on Hw 17 and 280. It's a nice loop that starts and ends near Mtn View. Be sure to see the ocean. Of course these things would be far better with your girlfriend along, so maybe work it in around the wedding stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm gonna keep all that in mind when i go out to cali in a few weeks. Thanks also to Vorra for the golf link, there looks to be alot of courses in the area that sound pretty nice. One thing I am definately gonna do is take the drive along the coast while i'm out there.
