Unfair to second generation CTD's!

Hey, Jack -- I know it's your website, but can't we give the second generation CTD's equal time on the site's top-of-the-page logo, anymore? Or do we have to give it all up for those Euro-looking, quiet-as-a-BMW, well-behaved, family-type, third generation CTD's?

I mean, I own the last of the screaming, rattling, roaring, stinking, squared-off, accept-no-substitute, diesel-puking American brutes, and I say we gotta accept our legacy, as well as look to our soft-and-civilized future.

Besides,,,,,,,, since the Boss now has one of those Euro-looking, quiet-as-a-BMW, well-behaved, family-type, third generation CTD's,,,,,,,,, we are just thankful he didn't buy a Chebbie or a Furd!

I feel kinda violated. Depressed. I think we are getting a bad case of "the old 2nd gen profiling syndrome".

I was standing in the service line at the dealer waiting for truck to be brought and around and a second gen truck came around the corner for the owner to pick up. This area is covered with walls on both sides. The noise was so loud everyone covered their ears. It was the loudest Cummins engine I had ever heard. I asked the service rep about it. The truck had over 500,000 miles on it and had been heavily bombed for 450,000 of those miles. I guess the guy really drives it, but takes good care of it. Hurrah for the second gens. Just glad mine doesn't sound like that, but I wish it would run like that one probably does.

Face it guys. You're behind the times. Your trucks are obsolete. Quit using the VCR and buy yourself a DVD player. Throw away the cassettes and get CD's.

I say we get a modified 2nd gen, and a modified 3rd gen. and hook them to the pulling sled, and see who makes it the farthest. I think we know who the winner of that one would be Besides, who doesent love the loud awesome big rig sound of the 2nd gen. trucks?

All im going to say is that my truck is PROPERLY valved.
Besides, any inline 6 is a REAL diesel. But especially the ones with a P7100 pump and 12 valves.

So basically you're saying that you're 12 valves short of a real diesel? A few marbles short?? Not all there?? A couple of sandwiches shy of a picnic?
