ULSD in Torpedo Heaters

Has anyone tried running ULSD in a torpedo heater? I went down to my local station to fill up my kerosene cans for the coming cold weather. K1 is $3.199!!! I just walked away! Filled up one fiver with old style diesel number 2 just in case. This was before ULSD went on sale. I've used number 2 before. Works OK, but tends to stink a bit. Just wondering if the low sulfur will have less smell. My heater is rated for kerosene, diesel, jet fuel and home heating oil, so should function OK.

Got an airport that sells kero (jet-A) nearby ?

On the ULSD in the heater, I really don't see how it would hurt anything.

I would think, if anything you should have less soot from it...
