Left field, or right field? Naw, just kidding!

Had a boy at UCI -- so I sent them an e-mail query. An associate dean answered back. He says dozens of students wear Christian crosses -- Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, Eastern Orthodox, Coptic, you know, the diversity of Christians across the world -- on their gowns and/or hats every year. Says this is the first time another major religion has promoted their own faith in the ceremonies. Says they're doing it because of the feelings against Islam they've encountered in the U.S. recently, and they want to bring attention to the idea that not all Muslims support religious terrorism or listen to the imams who hate the infidels.

Well, OK. If they're not feeding me a line, I'm willing to go along with that. I see religious freedom in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Please keep in mind that believing that "fundamentalist Muslims" represent Muslims as a whole, is an exact parallel to believing the KKK represents the Christian faith's values and ideals.

As the old saying goes: Please ensure brain is in motion before throwing mouth (or in this case, fingers) in gear.

Just a note added; most are as always reasoned, well versed comments, but a couple were ....
