I'd rather blow torch my nipples off than have a Tundra.

4:30 is a KILLER ratio to hum along empty, would kill MPG empty, right?

its a pretty beefy rear end, 10.5" i think. and the 6 speed has a double od. i havent towed with one, but cruising, they have the gearing perfect IMO. it'll flat move out

Same exact thing with the 6.4. They are powerhouses, but ford wanted those motors put out so fast that there was no time to fix the large problems that go along with them.
I have to agree with you the 6.0 will out run a 5.9 cummins when they are both stock. But when you Mod the Ford and the Dodge their is no comparison between how much better the cummins pulls.
For the record this is comparing a 99 7.3 vrs a 2000 Dodge and a 05 6.0 vrs my 06 Dodge.

there is a difference between "going fast" or "outrunning" versus pulling good

Jeez, it's funny last night I was searching for something and ran across a toyota forum where a guy started a thread with "dodge tows 36K" or something like that. Toyota guys flamed him, mods said he was trolling, then they scientifically told him we was overloaded.....now here in the dodge forum more "yota" action.

When my rig is tipping the scales at nearly 20k I'm not to concerned with how fast I'm gonna get to 60mph. First off, that's more fuel pouring out the exhaust for no reason, Second, more strain/stress on driveline components, unnecessary strain I might add. I bet the trucker in the 379 Pete with the 769 Cat dump truck is wishin he could get to 60 really fast.

Worried about on ramps? Loaded to bear, I don't worry, maybe if there is a trailer/truck coming but they have respect for folks getting on the highway with trailers, unlike our "4 wheeler" counterparts.

In closing, Yippee for toyota, free yeah I'd take one, buy one? Nope, won't do what I want. I'd rather overbuild and be able to "do" whatever I may think of now or in the future than to underbuild and realize that I have to do something else to get a job done. Does that make sense?

If you put a quarter in the ashtray of that Tundra and push it off a cliff, you could say you lost something.

But hey, who can afford to throw away a quarter nowadays?
(oops, that may be a flame war in the making)

all i want to say it that who ever is in charge of the motors that ford is using is a DA. Yeah the toy will out pull the F250 if they are both gassers, ford is droping the same 5.4L in everything from the half ton to the one ton. I got bored one day and "built my own truck" on the ford webside, it gave me the option of the 5.4 V8, 6.8 V10 or the diesel. and honestly they are going to try the cheapest ones out and what will the cheapest one have in it.......the 5.4.
Thats all i want to say cause it drives me nuts when someone comes up bragging about "their" tuck can pull more than the new F-350.....Yeah, "i'll believe that when me shi_ turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbit." put it up to a real truck.
