A tip before you carve.

Please, before you try to carve the turkey with a dull knife by pressing down on the blade, turn it over. It's upside down.

If it was upside down and you pressed on the blade, its still dull. I would be bleeding if i simply touched the sharp end of the blade. Still funny though.

Yep. I sharpened tooling for a cabinet shop I worked at along time ago and just touching the blade on one of my good knives will get you a couple of stitches. They don't go in the dishwasher, and I don't scrape the cutting boards with them.

Another good tip is to KILL the Turkey before trying to carve it....those wings can slap the snot out of ya

That's a good one. My father was a surgeon and I have never seen anyone so abusive on knives. I guess he just expects to be handed a sharp one when he needs it.

One of my tasks each visit is touching up my mom's knives. He beats them so badly the steel won't touch them up so I have to regrind them.....every time!
