Thought for the day
Got this from a co-worker the other day and with the politicians at it again it fits well.
Thought for the day:
If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq Theater of Operations during the last 22 months, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are 25% more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capital, (which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation) than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.
I don't have anything to substantiate these numbers but knowing D.C.s record for murder it would be hard to prove otherwise.

Does anybody know where to find statistics to prove whether or not this is true?
No, it's our responsibility to do what's best for ourselves, including rearranging other countries' governments.
And in sticking with a self-centered national-political point of view (God-forbid), I say that we cancel Washington gun control.
((I give this thread 2.5-3 pages...))

If I remember correctly, the British tried this a few times with US Back in the day. Seem's they were trying to force THEIR religious beliefs and taxes on us when we were in an entirely different part of the World!!!!!!!!!!!
This is another one I'll opt out of for now..........

Alot of the things that have been happening have been inflated so much by the media. Sure the conditions are like he ll but I think the media has been inflating this so much. They are pumping this information into the public to scare them and to make them think this country is so great and how much better off we are then them. But we really arnt better off them, we are worse off them. Just my .02

Equalizer,
Was it intended as humor? I suppose some facts can be funny, but not facts like that. I've been concerned about traveling abroad since 9/11, but I won't go anywhere near D.C. because of facts like that. There's a reason D.C. is the capital, murder capital, and it's because they have citizens who are not allowed to defend themselves. Sounds like Iraq would be a better place to visit.
Britt,
I'm not sure the U.S. is rearranging the Iraqi government. I think the Iraqi people are and we are just there providing our support. I'll bet that if we asked the Iraqi people whether or not they want us to leave the majority would ask us to stay.
Also, to comment on the thought of a crusade; The British still ruled America when we fought for our independence. We don't claim to rule Iraq and we are supporting their religious beliefs Sunni, Shiite, Muslim, etc. If we are imposing our taxes on them then why did we just spend $80 billion of our $$$$???
