Hey Dennis. My son is a software engineer, and he's had 6 or 8 PC's, and his next "personal" computer is going to be a Mac. Mine, too, I think. He bought a iBook for my daughter (he's a great brother, and son, by the way) and she loves it. My Compac is down right now because I accidently clicked on a download I didn't want, and the whole machine is full of adware that I can't delete. (He'll be home for Christmas in a week and take care of it for me. I'm saving my pennies for a PowerBook.

DeWain

P.S. The reason that Mac's are not infected with viruses or worms is that they only represent about 5% of the personal computer market, and the criminals just don't bother with writing the software that will infect them.

Dell just came out with the 3000. They're getting rid of the 2400's so you might be able to get a closeout deal on one and upgrade the ram (and anything else you want) yourself.

Dennis,
"Ram" would be the memory in the computer,
not the cute little blue thing parked in the garage.
(or the driveway like mine, not cute and not little, but still considered blue)

Thumbs up It's been ordered,,,

Thanks folks,
I think he will be happy with this. I made some changes and Dell also had some extras they were doing as a special of the week. (In bold) I know enough about this stuff to be dangerous! DeWain,

You will love the Mac, all of the propaganda is true! Just turn it on and go. In fact, the wife wanted a PC a few years ago in the internet infancy. I bought a PowerBook 400mhz instead. I bought a PC emulation program for her to do her Windoze 95 stuff from work. The Mac was faster and more stable then her PC at work, go figure?

I just like the fact I wake it from sleep, and start working. Though, I am glad that the Mac is not as popular as the PC's are. Then I would have buggy software and all of the viruses and stuff to deal with. Buying a PC is like buying a Ford, I know, I had one, and still own one.

They don't call it a Personal Confuser for nothing!

This message is being typed on a Mac.

Mike

Just a fun poke at you PC guys, all in good fun!

Cool

I use both platforms at home / work and I would highly recommend the Mac. The only downside with the Mac is the limited availability of software; as more people shift to the Mac this problem will eventually be eliminated. As mentioned before, with a PC he will be fighting against the constant onslaught of viruses and adware from your friendly marketing firms. All it takes is one incidental download and POOF the hard-drive is an instant paper-weight.

ONCE YOU GO MAC --YOU DON’T GO BACK
