NEED ADVICE ON PURCHASE
NEED ADVICE ON PURCHASE
I PUT A DEPOSIT ON A 99 2500 QC (CTD, 4X4, 5 SPEED, SLT, SB) WITH 98K. THE TRUCK IS SELLING FOR $17,500. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A PRETTY GOOD DEAL UNTIL I FOUND THAT BOTH FRONT AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING(WORSE ON THE RIGHT). OTHERWISE THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE (USED BUT NOT ABUSED). IS THIS ENOUGH TO PASS ON THE TRUCK AND KEEP LOOKING OR SHOULD I BUY IT A FIX THE SEALS
Re:NEED ADVICE ON PURCHASE
I agree with BIG MIKE about having the seller fix it before buying - if he will.
If he won't, and everything else is in good shape, you are getting the truck for a very good price. I had new brakes and seals on all 4 wheels for under $500. The best pads and shoes I could get with a "lifetime" warranty. Seals and labor 90 days and labor is the big cost.

Re:NEED ADVICE ON PURCHASE
Thank you all for the help... I bought the truck today and love it. The dealer (independant) offered to have his mechanic replace the seals, but when I asked if he had done them before he replied " no but he has books". needless to say I declined. He did knock $500.00 off the price, that I accepted. So thanks again for all of the help
