Did you ever REALLY look at your TACH.<br> I've been driving DD for 8 years and never noticed until today<br>that all the hash marks are set every 125 RPMs .<br> I noticed this while I was working on my truck with the scanner and the tach wasn`t showing the same.<br>How many of you already knew this?<br>Just shows who is paying attention, not me.<br> Danny

 

I noticed it the day I took it for a test drive before I bought it. I thought &quot;This sure is a goofy way to mark a tach&quot;,,,,,, : ,,,,, then figured it must be a Diesel thing.<br> But after having bought the truck and learning about the new world of the diesel engine,,,,,,,, I still think it's a goofy way to mark a tach! ???

I noticed it during the test drive, but don't see why it really matters. Even if it was marked at 100 rpm increments, the engine would still be running the same speed.

 

I noticed it... <br><br>...what I also noticed is that at night when you turn on the dash lights. the tachometer has 500 rpm increments <br><br>This is one of the very few situations I have with my new Ram that I say, what was the engineer thinking? ???<br><br>Every 250 rpm and have them day marked and night illuminated is fine with me. ;D<br><br>Consistancy is the key.

 

I think I will just pull my tach out and replace it with a big ol' 10,000 RPM 5&quot; diameter Super Comp tach with a shift light - and then mount it outside on my hood :<br><br>Forgot for a second there - this ain't a Camaro (or Ford truck) board <br><br>Since they only really need 4K worth of face dial you would think they could mark it in 50 rpm increments for us.

Dryer vent hoses everywhere. 8)<br><br>I like the looks of that overlay.

 

FYI - - '03 is marked at 100 increments. At least mine is, so assume they all are.
