transmission dipstick markings 2005 48RE

My owners manual states the fluid level should be between the two holes on the dipstick with the fluid warm, the engine running and the transmission in neutral. My dipstick only has one hole at the fill portion of the shaded area on the dipstick. There is a max line at the upper end of the shaded area on the stick and also after the "S" bend in the dipstick an area imprinted which reads Max. Which "MAX" is the correct one for warm fluid????
Thanks.

I just took a look at my 2006 trans dipstick (it should be the same as both have the 48re trans) and the word Max with an arrow pointing to the XX hatch marks is the Max line you want to use. Also there is only one hole in mine and I wonder if the older ones had two and when they changed they did not update the book. BTW, if you look at the words above the S curve you will see it’s only info on how to check your trans fluid.

Thank you, I just needed some clarification. I just replaced my atf+4, filter, and replaced my pan with a mag hytec deep sump pan. I just need to get my level right. Thanks again!!!

We just changed the ATF+4 in my sons 06 DW with a deep MagHytec and I thnik we put 12 qts. He said it took 10, but it never showed on the stick. The 12 qt level has been running fine. The pan is on DTT tranny. My stock pan takes 6 qts.
