My son has a pitbull and also has 2 more at the yard, it is very effective but they get into porcupines too often.

The orphanage already has 3 Alsatian's, but there are so many people there full time and so many visitors, that the dogs now ignore everybody and play with the kids.

So I finally got around to installing this thing, very pleased so far. The daytime picture is excellent and full color 1080P, the night time goes to black and white and was fuzzy somewhat, mind you it was snowing lightly last night so that may have been a factor. The 60ft of cable that comes with every camera is ok for most locations but I had to compromise on the cable routing to get the cable to the recorder location I chose as it says not to use more than one cable. What I learned was to hook up a camera and try the different locations BEFORE drilling the hole and running the wire, I moved one camera 3 times and one 4 times before I was happy with the view. The recorder hard drive is a little noisy but it's running so don't install it in a bed room. I may add a wifi camera to get the distance I need.

I'm assuming these are the small diameter siamese cables. If you go with the RG59 version, you can run a couple hundred feet with negligible loss in qualtiy.

Thanks.. I was thinking of using some RG6 I have left over from the Sat Tv install but would still have to get power to the camera, I know I need power for a wifi camera anyway but with winter here almost I wanted it installed before it was unsafe to get upon the roofs. I'll use it over the winter and see how the camera placement works out.
