Buddy of mine got pulled over in NY for having stacks and smoking. He brought it to court and told the officer to blow it out his rear. Not to mention the Fact the Judge did drive a cummins, and later that week went to a truck pull with him. They've been buddies ever since... But Ne who, he won his case because he told the judge his truck was comercial, and then the judge told the officer to blow it out his rear!

Son got pulled today

The same exact cop that stopped me last week pulled my son today and gave him the same exact ticket.
This guy must have a serious issue or something.

Yeah, he did the old back out of the driveway with the cord plugged in thing and ripped the entire grille clean off the truck. He was not amused. He is trying to find a replacement now.

Uh Oh! Now the cop is gonna go for the co-conspirator rap! I can already here Deputy Fife telling the judge, "You gotta nip it, nip it in the bud."

He is getting ready to order one now. Prices seem pretty reasonable.

Joel I wouild go to court and fight it. All the laws are up to interpretation. Your interpretation and the troopers interpretations are obviously different. I would tell you to go to court and see what the local judges interpretation is.

I don't know of any law that specifically makes stacks illegal. The other problem may be that someone may have decided that they don't like stacks. It could be the trooper, the judge, or someone important in the State Police.

Since that's where you live you'll know where the judge stands and what to do about your stacks permanently. The troopers apparently under the impression that you shouldn't have stacks so you can get the judge in essence to settle the argument. I used to be a police officer in VA so if you have some specific questions Pm me or shoot me an email. Good luck with the judge. Shawn

Around here there are no noise laws for diesels, at least for now I sure hope it stays that way... If you want to get mean with them, just bring up dual exhaust for gassers, some exits in front of the wheels, why is yours that much different?

Oh I definately plan to fight it since I use this thing mainly for a tractor anyway. What's the big deal. Many many trucks are running split exhaust, I just chose to run mine up through the bed.

Here in PA there is no law for the diesel exhaust that I am aware of. The turbo is considered the first suppressor of noise, therefore, you dont have to even run a muffler. This is from the dealer that does my vehicle inspections.

I had one run in with the law concerning extra lights on my car * under the rockers * . The cop told me that I had 3 days to get them off and to bring the car up to the barracks to prove that they were removed. The next day, I took the car up and asked him to show me in the *LAW* where it said I wasn't allowed to have them on my car. He could not prove it to me by the book, so I told him that I wasn't going to disconnect them because he couldnt prove it. He didn't like it but he didn't fight me either.

I say, go straight to the barracks and make them show your where it states that you diesel pick-up cant have stacks. I bet they wont be able to show you. Be nice about it though, they dont like it being shoved up their nose that they were wrong. Good luck
