Stop Calling me!!!
Stop Calling me!!!
The house line has been getting a constant barrage of phone calls from 866-781-0411. Its been at least 3-5 times a day. We have caller ID so I didnt answer it but finally got tired of hearing the phone ring that often so I answered it and they hung up. So I called back to get them to stop calling and told them to put me on there do not call list. Since its obviously a computerized calling device it should have just stopped calling. I got called again today, hung up on, then I called back. Told them again to put me on the do not call list as soon as I was done saying that I was hung up on (I wanted to ask them why it wasnt done yesterday). Guess who called less then 20 min later? Yup, you guessed it. 866-781-0411. I am willing to bet they call again later today and again tomorrow. If you look up the number you can see how bad a practice they have with this. How do I go about getting them to stop calling?
You can try to register on this website, see if that fixes it. https://www.donotcall.gov/
i had a phone at one time with a feature called telezapper. have you ever called a number that is disconnected and head the couple tones before the message?
those tones tell electronic dialers that the number is no good and is automatically removed from the list.
so my telezapper phone did those tones everytime we picked it up, friends calling, telemarketers, everyone heard it , then we talked. after a few weeks of use, we never got automated calls again.

Never tried it so I cant say how well it works.
works fantastic.
another thing i have done when getting an actual person is to ask them to hold on, so you can go to a room that is quieter to listen better. i head into the garage where i have these mounted.

i hold the phone in front of them and give a 100psi blast.

I used to use a service from Verizon called Call Intercept - it worked good and the telemarketing calls stopped within a week or so.
It came bundled with some other services, but in an effort to save some money I downsized my phone service and call intercept was one of them. It took a few weeks for the marketing calls to return...
I think I'm going to order that telezapper right now.

Why go to the garage?

The telezapper is $15 at Amazon; and the Vz Call Intercept is $5.50/month? The telezapper only works on auto-dialers and predictive dialers; while Call Intercept will work against all types of spammers.
Hmmm, need to figure out which one would be a better buy. You can buy wireless phones with the telezapper already installed, but the price isn't comptetitive with the stand alone unit.
