It is breeding with other species of owls and so there are fewer and fewer of the pure bloodline. So to fix that we must stop logging the old growth forests where no owl food lives as it is too dark and barren)
You might want to do some research on the mythical old growth forest spotted owl. Them things are not native to the old growth forests. They are native to the desert, like the Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico desert. They live in the cactuses down there. Their kinda like cockroaches, they just moved in and then the environmental crazies used them to kill logging.

Ramlovingvet, you have a couple of options. The first is to just toss the thing into the ditch as no matter how long you cook it and no matter how much gahlick, salt and pepper you use that thing will still be tougher than shoe leather and taste like butt. The other thing is to donate it to the local chapter of the enviro *****, I seem to recall that their donation box's are on their front steps.

Are you guys out west having problems with Snipe due to deforrestation too? With all the logging, it's really hard to find a good place for Snipe Hunting. All the victims seem to be able to find their way out of the woods too quickly these days....

Hey Scott we fry them over here in the valley. Maybe all that salt air over there on the coast makes them tough to chew.

Not if you smoke them with redwood and serve them on a bed of wild rice and steamed snail darters...
