Speaker/Radio Question

In my bronco the stock front speakers where shot, so i replaced them with bose speakers out of a cadillac i scrapped. They where 4 wires comin out of the mini amp they went to but if i unplugged them from the amp it was a 2 wire hookup so i figured i would give it a shot... Well they worked great and sounded good for about a half hour when all of the sound cut off. This was while i had them turned way up enjoying the lack of crackling and popping that i had before... Now when i turn the truck on i hear i have power to the speakers, the head unit works fine, but no sound comes out. I replaced the speakers with sony units that i know work. What could be the problem? all the wiring is fine, and all the fuses are good. I dont have the money right now to throw in a new head unit to see if thats the issue.
