what was the question?

My corvette 327 stuffed in 71 short step truck (can you say spin tires until you got tired). It required a tune up every 3 months or 3000 miles.
oil, filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and a carb cleaning.
The timing is questionable since it run better a few degrees over advanced, but wouldn't start when it was warm (and wouldn't idel cold)

Bingo!! Except you did forgot to mention that the 283 and the 327 are small journal's. Might have a bit of a problem trying to build a 302 with a LJ 327 block and a SJ 283 crank.

Any one know some one looking for a SJ 327 block with NO ID numbers stamped on the block? Early/mid 65 if I remember correctly. Perfect to make that numbers matching '65 Vette that came with a 350.

I say no more.

And let's not forget about the AMX. I do not know much about them except that I think it is a neat car. And as it is almost the 4th, it came in Red, White, and Blue.

I wonder where you could get the 1/2 size dies for doing the vin# above the regular ID #'s ?
I passed on a '63 split window numbers correct back in '92...I thought it would never be worth the 22K price

yep 67s were small journal and 68-69 were large journals. I have a large journal crank and a 327 block in the barn. One day a 6-71 huffer will get put on a set of 8:1 pistons Of course I need to get sick of wrenching on the 12v first.

I passed on one also in the real early 80's, dumb kid. I was 18/19 and ended up with a '65 ElCamino. Could have gotton it for 8k if I remember correctly, although I think it may have had a 350 in it. Would be a good place to put that SJ 327 now. In fact, the ElKy is where the blank 327 came from.

At one time I knew where you could get those stamps. Been many years since I have even thought about this.

Now we/re getting close to my great loss, '65 SS Malibu Convertable 327/Powerglide in great shape....my first car back in '73. Wish I'd kept that one.

If it helps any, I still have the tissue dispenser out of my '65 Elky that I am willing to get rid of. Hang that off of your dash and see the looks on other peoples faces.

And I believe it was the same one used in the SS.
